COMPETITION ENTRY FOR COLLIDER ACTIVITY CENTER SOFIA

The new Collider Activity Center building made for indoor climbing is perceived as a structure of sport and activity, as well as a place of gathering and movement. The building is defined as a new dynamic entity that unfolds to the visitors, inviting and challenging them to explore and enjoy the microcosms of activities. Instead of creating a single architectural object that one can admire from distance, we decided to distort the form and program and create a framework for activities. We created a series of plazas, with an accent of the main internal plaza,as a continuous scheme of public places, defining the new location optimum for encounters and exchange among people, making a prototype of an urban activity incubator.
